For Alianna life did not start on the streets of New York City but instead in a small town in the heart of Alabama. There the Hartford family lived on the old family plantation, raising the children to be southern gentlemen and belles. The matriarch, Anabelle, required one thing of each of her children and that was that they each take up some sort of art. Alianna's choice was quickly made in the area of dance, starting with ballet from the time that she could walk. She trained with as many of the people in the area that surrounded the old family home until she exhausted the resources that she had.
When she was sixteen her older sister moved to New York to pursue a degree from Columbia just as her father had and Alianna, ever interested in dance, followed her. Despite her mother's objections, Alianna's father allowed her to live in New York with her sister, Elizabeth, in her little apartment. Here Alianna began working at a local dance studio, picking up lessons as she could and teaching when she could as well. Everything to her revolved around dancing in some shape or form. When asked what she wanted to do the only thing that she could tell people was that she wanted to dance, nothing else.
At eighteen she graduated from a local private school and began working full time at the dance studio while working at Effie's Diner to help her sister, who is currently still a student at Columbia in her second to last year.
